Tooth decay
Tooth decay, also known as dental caries or cavity is a common disease whích annoys almost everyone durung their lifetime.
The combination of bacteria and food causes tooth decay. A clear, sticky substance called plaque that contains bacteria is always forming on your teeth and gums. As the bacteria feed on the sugars in the food you eat, they make acids. The acids attack the teeth for 20 minutes or more after eating. Over a period of time, these acids destroy tooth enamel, resulting in tooth decay. If it is left untreated, tooth decay can cause pain, infection, and tooth loss.
Dentists at AVA Dental Centre would ask you about your past dental and medical problems and care, then they would examine your teeth, give you advices about diets and offer treatment options to fight back dental cavity in order to help you have strong healthy teeth
Tooth sensitivity
Tooth sensivity is one of the most common complaints among dental patients. It has been estimated that at least 1 in 4 adults suffer from this disease and it now has even appeared on young people.
Tooth sensitivity is caused by the movement of fluid within tiny tubes located in the dentin (the layer of tissue found beneath the hard enamel that contains the inner pulp), which results in nerve irritation. When the hard enamel is worn down or gum have receded, causing the tiny tube surfaces to be exposed, pain can be caussed by eating or drinking. Without proper treatment, it would lead to gum disease and tooth decay.
At AVA Dental Centre, after our dentists seal exposed surfaces, they would recommend you some change in your diet and give you both in-office treatments and patient-applied products for home usse.
